  4. Hunting: A cat’s instincts to hide and pounce in order to capture its prey is another reason why boxes are so appealing to them. Boxes provide a perfect hiding spot for cats to stalk their prey and pounce when the time is right 

  5. Adaptation: A recent study conducted by the University of Utrecht discovered that cats with boxes actually recovered faster and adapted to their environment quicker. This shows that boxes are incredibly beneficial for cats to help deal with change 

In conclusion, cats love boxes because they provide a sense of security and comfort, warmth, and a place to hide and hunt. They are also naturally curious creatures and are drawn to new objects in their environment. So, if you want to keep your cat happy, give them a cardboard box to play with.
